Placement 2018 in top MBA colleges has started and the trends show that most MBA and PGDM colleges may surpass their past records. Before finalizing their MBA admission, the MBA aspirants who are looking for best MBA colleges in India will naturally look for the placement trends at MBA colleges as apart from fee, learning, location, ranking and other parameters, Placement is one of the crucial factors determining your MBA admission preference.
Although summer placements for 2017-19 batch at almost all the top MBA colleges is over with higher stipend, some of the MBA colleges like GIM Goa, Nirma University have shared their interim data in final placement 2018. The short placement statistics, shared by the B-schools, is a reflection of rising trend in final placement.

Placements in IIMs, FMS, IIFT, SPJIMR, MDI, IMI, JBIMS, IMT have shown rising salary trends beating the economic slowdown and giving clarity of thought to decide upon the right MBA college.
MBA Placement 2018: Process yet to be over.
IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, FMS Delhi, IIFT, SPJIMR and other top B-schools are expected to complete their Placement 2018 in one or two months. However, most of the 20 IIMs publish their salary statistics only after the IPRS Audit by CRISIL or the other assigned agency in the month of August/September.
MBAUniverse will continue updating the Placement 2018 salary data immediately when it is received through the reliable sources to spread awareness of current trends in MBA Placement.
The MBA placement trends in 2017 and 2016 have reflected higher than last year average salary and more MBA jobs as well as more international packages. The demand for MBAs in India has gone up further for consecutive 2nd year. There is no more a dismal picture of global economic slowdown that has been haunting the minds of young MBAs till last year.
Placements as reflected in top MBA colleges Placement reports, over the years have grown tremendously in India. In fact higher ranking goes in favour of those top MBA colleges and top IIMs with high average salary instead of highest salary. There are many MBA colleges and IIMs with a huge gap between highest and average placement packages in their placement reports. This phenomenon creates doubt whether the MBA average salary in placement reflects correct picture of high placement packages or with 1 or 2 high placement packages the MBA colleges have tried to paint a rosy picture of high average package in placement.
With the spread and improved demand for fresh MBAs, the recruiters in these sectors have become more competitive to offer more jobs to MBAs. MBA placement 2017 in many B-schools got over in 3 to 4 days with high salary offers and the increased number of recruiters from all sectors. All the sectors have recorded growth in MBA placement 2017 including Banking, Finance, Services & consultancy, Insurance (BFSI); IT/ITES; Operations; manufacturing, consulting among others.

Logo design in today’s world is totally under rated. People do not understand how important a good logo is and how valuable it is to their business and this is why I am highlighting some of the worst logo designs out there.

Some pretty bad stuff here. It’s sad that this kind of work is used all over the place. People often try and do/say too much with a logo and often that is where the problems start.
The last one is pure genius. I mean really now… The client must have pissed the designer pretty bad for him to come up with that!

Even though I’m not a designer, I love learning about it. This was a great tutorial in “What NOT to do” for designers. Perhaps also for business owners, “Don’t let this happen to you” or “When to go back to the drawing board.”
The Kids Exchange reminded me of a similar showcase of disastrous domain names. Haven’t checked whether these are real or not, but they certainly are bad:
It’s always great to start the day with a laugh — or at least, being very curious. “What were they thinking?” is always an interesting exercise.
Some of those logos are just crying out to be made into t-shirts.
Ah Papyrus. The logo design equivalent of a frozen throw-in-the-oven pizza. Comic Sans gets all the flack but somehow Papyrus is overlooked.
While we’re throwing the odd phallic logo around, don’t forget the OGC (ogc. gov. uk/). Look at the logo and tilt your head to the left.
Wow, the Arlington Pediatrics logo should’ve landed the designer in jail. Nice collection of late 90’s web looking logos. Sad that so many of these logos are still in circulation.

Haha, I volunteered at a place that requested the use of the Poolservice Company logo on a program booklet. So glad to see that I’m not the only one who thinks this logo should be in this mix. :)

Nice assortment of really bad logos Jacob. It is a really good reality check for the public to see how important it is to hire a professional designer opposed to the high school teenager next door with a ripped copy of Photoshop. Logos are one of those things where a client can really see the meaning of the phrase ‘What you pay for is what you get.’

Wow…headache after looking through all of them. I use 99designs alot (design contests for logos, website etc) and i always see people entering stuff like this, then i look and they have entered loads of other contests all with the same low quality work, it’s not that they don’t have ideas for them, it’s just that they havent learnt the software they need to to make those ideas look good on a computer, and i always think that why dont they think before they upload it ”Would i use this logo?” or ”Can i imagine this being a companies brand, their identity?” because the answer would probably be no.

Regarding the Hip-hop logo I think it’s obvious: it’s called “Hip-hop for HIV”, so it’s of pretty bad taste the use of red splatters all around the logo that imediatelly remind you of blood…

I never get tired of looking at these. One of the greatest examples for clients not to trust no-name designers.
Boy, you sure located some bad ones! I couldn’t even finish looking at all of them. I always get angry when I see a really stupid logo or a really busy one. Worst are the ones you can’t even read. Annoying. You’ve done a great job of pointing out bad design.
They may be questionable in quality… but they can still serve one good purpose for beginning designers (besides the “beware!” function): re-working bad logos is a great way to add some starting samples to an otherwise sparse portfolio. :)
Granted, we may not have all the background and research info necessary on any particular company at first glance — but its (bad) logo is still a pretty good start.

Where on earth did you find all of these logos? Some of them are so bad I find it hard to believe they are real.
Obviously, 90% of these were not designed by a professional. I mean a professional professional, not someone who just plays a professional on TV.
I did a logo for a class assignment once that I thought was just the coolest design ever. The teacher was emphatically against it and I didn’t understand why until later when a classmate showed me how phallic it was. The teacher didn’t want to humiliate me (thanks where ever you are!) but I learned a valuable design lesson, none the less.
Papyrus is a big no no. At least that was one of the big things I learned in college. What are some other font no no’s?

Any logo design should work in 1 color (black w/halftone). Those layer effects & MS default fonts are just tacky. Clients love that ugly shit…It makes me lose sleep.

And rather disturbing that educated people in USA came up with it and then used it. This is a very subjective matter. Just imagine everybody have their logo something like what you say as good as Nokia, Apple, IBM, or HP. Those designs that you published here were not bad designs. It’s just another way of interpreting things and it make this world a lot more merrier.

It is incredible how some logos are not only ugly to look at, but to some extent offensive. I really get the whole do it yourself and save deal, but if you plan to go somewhere with your business it is better to leave it to someone who at least knows what they are doing. Everyone has heard the phrase “sex sells” while it is probably true, you have to be weigh more subtle with it, it has to hit the subconscious mind not hit you with the innuendo.
I just couldn’t stop laughing at some of the logos. KIDSEXCHANGE?? It’s so inappropriate but funny! I guess you really need to distinguish each words with different colors or something. I also found a funny article logocontests/bad-logos. html about bad logos in logo contests.
gonna print this and save it. next time i can show these to my clients when they tells me they know someone who can do a cheaper logo for them…
i’m deeply saddened how logo design is not as important as building a skycraper or making a fastest car in the world. how they treat logo a least important in the business as they treat the artist who created for them… logo more often suffers a lot when you see them in the streets… people might say this logo is great, or this logo sucks… how embarrassing for the artist who were paid and the only compliment will get is who made this logo? hard for me to think how logo design is sometimes last in the lists!

These are all wonderfully horrible, but I was wincing whenever I saw something in an oval. I hate ovals. And feathering, hideously bright gradients, and big butt-ugly bevels. I really enjoyed the phallic ones at the end, especially Compter Doctor’s penismouse and the very last one made me laugh out loud.
You didn’t show one of my all time faves though, it’s a major video store chain here in Australia.

Interesting that among all these crappy little mom n’ pop shop logos stands monolithic Capital One’s crappy logo. I worked in the company’s creative department when this embarrassing travesty was concocted and everyone, I mean everyone, hated it. But the egomaniacs who run the company thought ripping off Nike and Bank of America would make Capital One seem like a leader. Say what?
The Capital One logo is too aweful. Other than that, so much papyrus and not enough Comic Sans *sigh*.

As I find it so hard to get my head round why some people feel these logo designs are great and designers will look at them and see them as hideous. Quite a lot of logos are only up there because they to focussed on the effects and the small details, when the concept of the logo is the most important thing. Most are trying ‘too hard’ to pull of a professionally-looking logo when they should go back, take out the fine details, take out the complicated effects, and keep the logo simple, (but in some cases not too simple as it has to be eye-catching).

Some great examples here! Unfortunately, badly designed logos are still very much present.
The ones that really make me sick lately are all the ones with wispy people, you’ve seen them. A circle for a head, pointy arms and legs, either jumping, flying or leaning. To me, those are a cop-out, a lazy or simply bad designer passing off something that’s out there by the thousands as their own.
BTW, making down through all those horrid logos simply to comment had me screaming “MAKE IT STOP. & # 8221;

Most of these logos are not the work of designers LOL. A designer doesn’t paste from google images… use WORD or PAINT as a designing tool… use 5 typefaces in one ‘logo’… manage to find 4+ colours which CLASH and combine them in a way which confuses the living daylights out of the viewer! :( if only they knew the affect a decent logo will have on their company!

The people who only want to pay $5 get what they pay for. If they don’t see the long term benefit for having a well designed logo then they probably won’t be in business that long anyway.
My problem is clients telling me they only need this much work before the quote, then expecting much more after, and then they get pissed because they’re getting what they paid for. That’s why I’m trying to get away from individual clients and work b2b where it’s not the person’s own money…. less personal.

You’re right about the importance of a good corporate design. But I wonder if it is really that important for a small business. Of course, if you’ve got the talent to design a good logo then go for it. But I’d also understand a small local store struggling with sales or income not spending much time and money for a logo designer.
I am a web and graphic designer and I can tell you that the designer is not always at fault in creating ugly designs. There are times that I have created something attractive and professional looking and the client will insist on using their own design with ugly graphics, fonts and colors. Unfortunately, it’s the designer that gets a bad rap as it appears to be a reflection of their work, when more often than not they are complying with the client’s requests.
The logos are really disastrous. I am not sure that the client will approve them at all. Honestly speaking for me these sucks. (. •??)
